As Wedding #2 approaches with ferocity, I am rushing around like a crazy person preparing. I feel calm, however, when I remember last June 30th… our little city hall wedding. I feel so fortunate to be able to celebrate my love for Alex on two separate days, one year apart. This year is more like a traditional wedding with one heck of a party tacked on, but last year had a charm to it that cannot be beat. It will always be the day of our official marriage, and thus will stay close to my heart.
SO to celebrate all of the city hall or eloping couples out there (and I know a few!!), but especially the New York pairs, here’s a wedding that has stuck in my mind since I first spotted it on Brooklyn Bride. This couple traveled from Switzerland to elope in New York. Jennifer Sosa captured this beautiful little event (see all of her gorgeous photos of this wedding here). The bride, she takes the cake… trés chic in her Jenny Packham gown and her bundled tendrils.
My favorite part: The tattoos they got after they were wed. TOUGH.
In fact, this wedding was SO inspiring to us, that we decided to get our own set of initial tattoos!! Alex’s A is in his own handwriting on my wrist, and my E is in my own handwriting on his. We got them the other day at Sacred Tattoo in Oakland and the employees and patrons there could not have been nicer. Highly recommended!
